Valsartan
An oral medication used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure, Valsartan belongs to a class of drugs that includes irbesartan (Avapro), losartan (Cozaar), and candesartan (Atacand). When the probable carcinogen NDMA was detected in some batches of Valsartan, the medication was recalled by the manufacturer, working with the Environmental Protection Agency. NDMA is also associated with liver damage.
